| Rivendell Interstate School Distrist was the first K-12 interstate school district in the United States. It is now a preK-12 school district and serves three Vermont towns (Fairlee, West Fairlee and Vershire) and one New Hampshire town (Orford). Rivendell is located in the picturesque four-season Upper Valley near Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The District also includes beautiful Lake Morey and Lake Fairlee and has a 37-mile hiking trail that connects the four towns. There are a number of higher education institutions close to our towns, including: Dartmouth College, Plymouth State University, Community College of Vermont, Lyndonville State College, Lebanon College, Norwich University, Vermont College of Fine Arts, Goddard College and New England Culinary Institute. The mission of the Rivendell Interstate School District is to foster the intellectual, social and personal development of its students. Our goal is that they will become life-long learners, positive contributors to their communities and productive, healthy adults.
