| The Mascoma Valley Regional High School is located in a rural area in W. Canaan. The current enrollment is 319 students in grades 9-12. The high school is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The faculty is working with the UNH SWIFT Schools program to enact the recommendations in the most recent NEASC report. The school offers a range of advanced placement courses including: statistics, calculus, chemistry, biology, English, European history and art. The school has a robust music and theater program, a strong art program, and a physical education curriculum that offers outdoor opportunities in hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snow boarding. Two Foreign Languages are offered (French & Spanish). Mascoma sends some students to the Hartford Area Vocational/Technical Program. This program allows students to explore careers in food service, health, STEM and several other areas. Mascoma High School offers many extra-curricular clubs and sports teams. Students can participate in Life Smarts, SPEAK, soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, cross country, field hockey, softball, wresting, baseball , drama club, quiz bowl, math league, robotics, and many other choices. Some of the colleges that our students were accepted at in 2018 include: UNH, Plymouth State University, Keene State College, Babson College, Bates, Brown, Clarkson University, Colgate, Middlebury, New England Culinary Institute, New England Technical Institute, Northeastern, Norwich University, RPI, Swarthmore, UConn, UMass, UVM, Virgina Tech, and Wentworth Institute. A small percentage of our students entered the military, and about 30% entered the workforce. Local residents and organizations supported our scholarship program with a total of over $100,000 this past year. The Friends of Mascoma, Canaan and Enfield Lions Clubs, Enfield Lioness Club, Music Boosters, Athletic Boosters, Football Boosters, The Byrne Foundation, Mascoma Savings Bank and the Walker Foundation are a few of the local organizations who continue to support our academic, extracurricular and athletic programs with their time and money. |

Additional Benefits Information Teachers who do not elect health insurance coverage and can provide proof that they have other insurance coverage, and as a result, decreases the district health insurance program cost to a lower level for the entire school year shall receive $1,000 cash in lieu thereof. The district will provide premioum payment of an accidental death and dismemberment program equivalent to annual pay rounded to nearest $500. The district will provide premium payment for the current disability program (90 days waiting period, 60% of monthly pay up to $4,000, payments to age 65). The district will provide premium payment for the current life insurance program or its equivalent. |
