| Our advisor program is the cornerstone of MCHS, reflecting our core values and beliefs. Academic opportunities include a Freshmen Academy, full time literacy specialist and math interventionist, writing center, a comprehensive school wide Habits of Work rubric, a unique alternative program focused on community service, a credit and standards recovery program, food pantry, clothing boutique and mentoring programs. Discipline is managed through restorative practices. Our robust dual enrollment program offers 100+ credits from Thomas and St. Joseph’s Colleges, KVCC, and UMA. A distinctive Pathway Program allows students to graduate with an Associate’s Degree in liberal studies or a minor in French. Students have access to Capital Area Technical School and online programming. 80% of students participate in Sports and Co-curricular activities, many winning local, regional and state championships. MCHS is well-known for its outstanding theater and music programs. Over 92% of students graduate from MCHS with 90% attending colleges, apprenticeship or the military. According to the MIYH Survey 84% of students feel teachers care about them and provide support they need. |
