| Pleasant View Elementary School (previously Anna McCabe Elementary School) has grades kindergarten through grade five in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Our faculty, staff, and administrator strive to create a joyful environment where students have unlimited opportunities for growth. The Pleasant View Elementary family, including all school stakeholders, embrace the importance of educating the whole child. We realize that our students’ academic and social emotional well-being are paramount to their holistic development. Kindness is the cornerstone of character building for each of our children. As respected writer, lecturer, and broadcaster, Dennis Prager, tells us: “Goodness is about character- honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people.” Pleasant View Elementary aligns itself with our district mission: Our Promise: Every student will be prepared for continued learning, career, and life. It is our responsibility to inspire children to be engaged, curious, problem-solvers whose empathy fosters their continued investment in learning about their world. Believing that our students’ education will be enriched by partnerships, we embrace the involvement of our families and community members, such as our police and fire departments; their contributions to initiatives such as Red Ribbon Week and Walking School Bus, have underscored our belief that we are all a community of learners. We believe that every challenge can lead to opportunities and strive to ensure consistency and stability for students. We recognize our important role in the continuum of their education. Our goal is to meet every student where they are, providing the instruction and support that will enhance their growth, and our school community as a whole. |
