| Opened in early 2004, this program offers a safe place for adolescents. The program is staff-secure and provides short-term assessment as well as support and stabilization services. The program has twelve beds and services both boys and girls between the ages of 12-18. The program provides services to the Cape Cod and Islands Office of the Department of Children and Families (DCF). YIP (Youth in Progress) is a program of the Cape Cod Adolescent Treatment Center that is run by youth ages 15 -18 years, and overseen by adult volunteers from the local communities and professional staff. YIP teaches kids adult daily living skills such as driver’s education, job coaching, health education, money management, interpersonal and professional communication skills. It instills in them a sense of civic responsibility and finally entrepreneurial skills imbuing them with self-confidence and leadership abilities. |
