| Located in Jericho, VT, Mt. Mansfield Union High School is set among the rural, rolling beauty of the Green Mountains, yet is only a 25 minute, delightfully scenic drive from Burlington, Vermont’s largest city. Home to the University of Vermont, Burlington is also a cultural center with theater, concerts, a yearly Jazz Fest, and multiple local cultural and sporting events such as the South End Art Hop and the Burlington City Marathon. Montreal is a 90 minute drive. Forbes magazine noted Burlington has having “One of America’s Best Downtowns”; Kiplingers named the city as one of the Best Cities in 2010. The United Health Foundation has ranked Vermont as the #1 Healthiest State. Stowe, Sugarbush, Smuggler’s Notch, Bolton, and other ski and recreation areas are a short distance away as is Vermont’s capitol city, Montpelier. Our students come to MMU from the rural, residential towns of Bolton, Huntington Richmond, Jericho and Underhill. These communities all have natural beauty and their citizens participate in multiple activities such as mountain biking, cross-country skiing, hunting, and road biking. With its easy access to Interstate 89, our community members have ready access to Northern Vermont’s major employers, including IBM, Ben and Jerry’s and the University of Vermont. .
