| Vision Statement East Side High School is a multi-ethnic mosaic of diverse cultures and talents, where students will develop into self-reliant leaders and contributing members of our pluralistic society through self-development, cooperation, team work and community service, and by practicing the principles and values of our representative democracy. Our students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for future success by mastering a curricula that is rigorous and challenging, pursuing area of interest, adopting habits that promote good health and physical well being, utilizing cutting–edge technologies, participating in co-curricular activities, and by extending their educational experiences through university and business partnerships. Mission Statement We the administrators and staff of East Side High School believe our primary goal is to provide all students, regardless of socio-economic status, race, ethnic background or ability, the educational opportunity which will prepare them to function socially, economically and politically in democratic society. In cooperation with parents and the community, we lead to develop a life-long love of learning and to acquire the body of knowledge necessary to meet and exceed the requirement of The Newark Public Schools and the State of New Jersey. As the largest bilingual comprehensive high school in Newark, we represent a mosaic of cultural diversity where the uniqueness and ultimate worth of each individual is an essential ingredient in our varied curriculum. Students and staff alike are encouraged to develop their abilities in a manner most conducive to meeting the challenges and opportunities of an ever changing and demanding world. |
