School Mission Statement


The Martin Luther King Jr. is an elementary school with an emphasis on journalism and publishing. Our mission is to provide our students with rigorous classroom experiences and quality instruction that can lead to a smooth transition on to high school upon graduation. We offer an intimate, supportive environment that meets the individualized academic, social, and emotional needs of all our students.

We, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School Family believe that all our students must be provided with a safe, clean, inspirational learning and social environment. Our school family knows that all students who are assigned as a member in our school family are capable of learning and contributing to our great society. Our family requires all of its members to work together as a cohesive unit to provide all our students with an enriched instructional program. Our school will ultimately prepare our students to perform effectively as world-class-citizens.
