The Three New Policies… 1. Recognize – through research the unquestionable link between attendance and grading on student achievement. 2. Support – the strategic plan by putting a high value on preparing our students for college career opportunities. 3. Strive – for a goal of 100% as the District’s brand. Establishing a higher standard. 4. Define – the importance of differentiating to address the needs of all students. 5. Provide – fairness, clarity and alignment. 6. Decisive – there are defined consequences. 7. Responsive – timely interventions to help all pupils achieve levels of proficiency; timely notification of parents/guardians; procedures for involving parents/guardians in the development and implementation of interventions. 8. Delineate – all stakeholders and their respective responsibilities-students, parents, attendance and guidance counselors, teachers, administration, and community. 9. Evoke – the privilege of Principal Prerogative in cases of extraordinary circumstances. 10. Simultaneous Renewal – Identifies the need for an implementation review with all stakeholders who will serve on a team to review every policy (twice annually during the initial year of implementation). |
