VISION AND MISSION New Jersey Regional Day School's philosophy is that all children can learn. We have the resources and knowledge to nurture each child's potential social, emotional, and academic growth. We offer a comprehensive educational life skills program, which provides a foundation for self-determination. NARRATIVE Our Outcome Based Curriculum is geared towards preparing our eclectic population to emerge as independent as possible in their future home and community life. Our outcome based planning is reflected in our curriculum and the pro-active approach to transition planning which incorporates techniques and strategies to foster independence. We believe that transition is a life long learning process that when done effectively, will bridge school and/or work, community involvement, independent living i.e., to the adult world. Transition from school to adult life will be the focal point because it directly impacts on our students' future as productive members of the community. This plan was derived from the values shared through a collective vision by stakeholders such as, parents, staff, community leaders, and students. Our mission reflects our students' needs and we have focused the vision to incorporate our students as the center of planning. Our goal incorporates the District's strategic plan because it reflects the district's emphasis on parental and community input, and involvement from broad based representation in the planning process. Also we've incorporated measurable student performance and school based planning in all aspects of the Educational Improvement Plan. |
