Job Title: On-Call (Day-to-Day) Substitute Teacher
Reports to: Campus Principal
Location: In-Person, CASLV School Campus – Las Vegas, NV; Henderson, NV
Position Type: On-Call, As Needed
Position Summary:
The On-Call (Day-to-Day) Substitute Teacher is responsible for delivering instruction and managing classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher. This role supports the academic success and well-being of students by maintaining consistency in instruction and classroom expectations during teacher absences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and instructional materials left by the classroom teacher.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
- Communicate with administrators and teachers regarding student performance and any issues that arise.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Supervise students in the classroom and during school activities as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.
- Follow all school rules, procedures, and policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid Nevada substitute teaching license or ability to obtain one.
- Prior experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and work in different grade levels and classrooms as needed.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit. The employee may be required to reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
This is an in-person role on a CASLV school campus. This job operates in a classroom environment in an elementary, middle, or high school setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, projectors, and phones. Noise level is usually moderate to high depending on the student activity and setting.
