Position Summary:

Coordinate collection of the TCPA District’s student Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data for Texas Student Data System (TSDS) submissions.


Education/Certification, and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Education or other related field
5+ years of related PEIMS experience
Must have experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Proficient in MS Office applications and Google Drive

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Extensive knowledge of PEIMS Data Standards and collection methods
Knowledge of the Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS)
Extensive knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook
Knowledge of student information software and user support
Strong skills in the areas of data integrity and information management
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Creative and collaborative problem solving skills
Highly organized and self-motivated
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates the collection of TCPA District’s PEIMS data for submissions related to student records maintenance for attendance, class scheduling, grade reporting, transcripts, demographic data, school calendars, and other data linked to automated student records.
Assists District PEIMS Manager with running/editing reports and provides verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.
Assists District PEIMS Manager with special program owners, data document collection processes and adherence to TEA’s Limited Scope Audits (LSA); submits required documentation to TEA.
Assists District PEIIMS Manager with continued training and information dissemination to enable administrators, special program directors, clerks, and teachers to effectively carry out District procedures respective to student records and PEIMS reporting.
Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required for PEIMS submissions and/or audits.
Assists campuses, and special program directors in managing automated student records to ensure compliance with established plans, policies, and procedures as related to PEIMS.
Recommends policies, plans and procedures concerning data classification, data ownership and consistent data definitions and business rules.
Recommends data quality improvement strategies, working within cross-functional teams including technical and business professionals.
Complies with District standards for Texas and federal attendance accounting laws and procedures outlined in the Texas Student Attendance Accounting Handbook.
Extensive knowledge of the Student Information System, as it relates to PEIMS.
Develops and maintains a strong sense of customer service; communicates with various stakeholders, including District and campus personnel.
All other related duties as assigned.
