    Ki Charter Academy is the premier educational provider for students who reside in residential treatment centers and acute care hospitals. With small class sizes and engaging curriculum, we reduce learning gaps to help students learn behavioral management strategies and improve their communication skills.

    Ki Charter - San Marcos rests on the 65-acre grounds of the San Marcos Treatment Center (SMTC) in beautiful San Marcos, Texas. Our students are the residents of SMTC with a handful of students from the local community, and we average 180 students on any given day, but our mobility rate can reach upwards of 400% over the course of the school year.

    • Masters Degree
      Texas Certified Licensed Specialist in School Psychology

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      Consult with psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, treatment facility personnel and community agencies concerning intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students as needed
      Comply with policies established by Federal and State Law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy in the areas of assessment, placement, and planning for special education services
      Plan and conduct staff development to ensure students gain access to TEKS- based curriculum and instruction, and work in accordance with State and Federal education law
      Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curriculum as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in the IEPs
      Conduct assessments to include but not limited to psycho educational functional behavioral, autism, ADHD, etc.
      Conduct or participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with appropriate placement and development of Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students
      Participate in district and campus staff development, faculty meeting. Demonstrate interest in and initiative towards professional development
      Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, facility members and community members
      Present subject matter in accordance with the guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations
      Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documentation as required
      Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and willing to take on various roles & responsibilities
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
