Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Assist ESL teacher in federal, state and local administrative requirements of the English as a Second Language program. Work under supervision of certified ESL teacher. Work in coordination with Special Education staff on campus.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
48 college credits, Associates Degree or Higher Preferred Spanish, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Computer Skills with software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience:
Office skills in an educational setting.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Gather student academic information from internal and external sources.
- Assist with administration and scoring of language proficiency testing instruments.
- Maintain accurate auditable records with all required documentation.
- Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Prepare accurate required reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate student data reporting.
- Regular and effective communication with parents, staff and administration.
- Prepare, coordinate and document all aspects of LPAC meeting.
- Assist in organization, use, and documentation of learning lab use.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Equipment Used:
Copier, personal computer, typewriter, and audiovisual equipment.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
