| BRAINATION, Inc. started as a small, residential charter school in San Antonio in October of 1998, we have since grown to a system of nine schools across Texas. We serve over 3,000 students in our charter schools and thousands more in our private schools. Our mission is to increase the capacity for human greatness. Our three imperatives: Belong, Be Great, Find Joy. Our partnership with Rise Recovery focuses on students who are in recovery from substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Our teachers evaluate the needs and abilities of students and determine the best methods and techniques to provide instruction within core subject areas while providing consistent, calm and caring support to our students. They ensure students show continuous improvement in learning; embrace technology, look for purposeful ways to engage students and welcome the challenge of creating rigorous curriculum. Our learning environment engages students in the construction of understanding through asking questions, exploring, researching, and reflecting. We focus on strong academics but also teach tolerance, value diversity, support justice, and strive daily to fulfill our mission. Ideal candidates will have the understanding and skills to communicate effectively with our student population. Ability to calmly handle a crisis situation and react appropriately. |
