| MISSION STATEMENT: In our culture of Academic Excellence at Washington School, we will provide students with a rigorous academic program where students use their minds well, care for themselves and others, and become active citizens in a 21st century global community. Our curriculum is integrated so standards based and data driven instruction provides students with long-term Academic Excellence. INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS At Washington School all students will work towards reaching individual academic excellence. Students will enhance comprehension by mastering academic vocabulary, determining what is important, and responding critically in writing. Progress in comprehension will be measured through open response assessments, Fountas and Pinnell scores, district and school assessments, and MCAS results.
